Western Piano Society was founded to provide students at Western an opportunity to share their passion for piano-playing and music. WPS activities include regular concerts where members can perform in a casual setting. Performers are encouraged to play any piece they like, be it classical, jazz, or contemporary. Members who do not wish to play, but to listen can come and enjoy the music.
Members are also provided with the opportunity to volunteer at Windermere on the Mount to play for the elderly. This is a great opportunity to perform in front of others while contributing to the community.
Lastly, the teaching program in WPS allows members who are willing to learn to be matched up with another member who is qualified to teach. Matching is based on needs and preferences. This is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to learn piano or to gain teaching experience.
