In January 2019, the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) announced reforms to post-secondary education which required institutions to classify ancillary fees as essential (mandatory) or non-essential (optional), as per Ministry guidelines. The policy requires that students be given the option to opt-out of paying fees that are deemed non-essential by the Ministry.
There are a number of valuable programs and services that are classified as optional under the Student Choice Initiative, many of which are solely funded by student ancillary fees. Opting-out of these fees means that your experience here at Western may be impacted. Through this site, you have the ability to opt back in by paying some or all of these fees.
We believe these programs and services play a vital role in providing the best student experience for all undergraduate students at Western. While you may not directly benefit from the programs and services that these fees provide, we encourage you to rethink the impact that your decision to opt-out will have on your peers at Western and the overall student experience on our campus.

TAW Karaoke Night 2022-2023
TAW’s Karaoke Night will be taking place on November 10th from 7PM to 10PM at Zodiac KTV (530 Oxford Street West, London, Ontario, N6H 1T6)! There will be 2 time slots to sign up for: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and 8:30 PM to 10 PM. This event will be your chance to show off your vocal skills and who the boss is when it comes to singing!
Interested in singing some Taylor Swift or some good ol' Chinese tunes like "Tong Hua"? We have got you covered! Simply fill out the following Google Forms and include your preference of songs you would like to sing, and we will try our best to match you up with others with a similar interest! If you are signing up with friends, you can also include that information in the form!

Aspire Case Competition
Congratulations on being selected to take part in this year's iteration of The Aspire Case Competition! Hosted by PBSN’s Student Affairs portfolio, Aspire is an annual conference that kicks-off the club’s busy academic year by serving as the statement PSBN inaugural event. Aspire invites incoming first-year students to explore and interact with the case study method utilized by Ivey Business School at Western University by giving them the opportunity to work on a real-world case within a mentorship context. Compared to other conferences, Aspire is the only case competition at Western that places both freshman and upper-year students on the same team so that participants can hone their business acumen through working hand in hand with their older peers.
To take part in Aspire, participants MUST pay their delegate registration fee prior to the conference on November 19, 2022. Fees are $5 for PBSN members and $10 for non-members. |
